Review The Cliff Resort Mui Ne

Review The Cliff Resort & Residences in Mui Ne | What to know before staying

Posted on October 3, 2026October 3, 2026 by Fiona Mai

Review The Cliff Resort Mui Ne is one I’m particularly happy to write because this was actually my second stay here (and I’d happily come back again!). This time, I stayed with my family, including my parents, my husband and my 3-year-old daughter, and it was nice to see that everyone enjoyed the resort in their own way. There was plenty for my parents to enjoy at a slower pace, while my kid had pools and activities to keep busy. For me, it was exactly the kind of easy, peaceful beach getaway I was looking for.

.

Where is The Cliff Resort in Mui Ne?

Mui Ne is a laid-back beach town in southern Vietnam that has long been popular with Russian tourists. Compared with Nha Trang, it generally feels quieter and less built-up, although it can still get busy during holiday periods.

If you’re coming from Ho Chi Minh City, getting to Mui Ne takes around 2.5–3 hours by car using the new highway, which makes it a pretty easy weekend escape.

The Cliff Resort is about a 10-minute drive from Mui Ne centre, in a much quieter and more spacious part of town. And once you’re inside the resort, you barely feel like you’re in a busy beach destination at all.

.

When is the best time to visit Mui Ne?

If you want pleasant weather without dealing with the biggest crowds, I’d personally choose November to April. This is generally a dry period in Mui Ne, and outside the main holiday periods, the resort feels much more peaceful.

April to August can also be relatively dry, but this overlaps with Vietnam’s summer holiday, so expect more families, children and company groups. You may also come across team-building activities, which can get quite noisy around the resort.

From May to October, you can expect more rain, particularly in the afternoon and evening. So if you’re hoping to spend most of your time by the pool or beach, I’d keep the weather in mind when planning your trip.

.

The Cliff Resort Mui Ne is spacious, green and wonderfully peaceful

One of the things I like most about The Cliff Resort is simply how much space there is. The resort is very green and lush, with plenty of trees and gardens to walk around. They even have a small lemon garden, which is a cute little detail I didn’t expect to find.

After spending most of my time in busy Ho Chi Minh City, I really appreciate places like this where you can slow down a little. You can walk around, sit under the trees, take a dip in the pool or simply do nothing for a while.

Another thing I like is that The Cliff Resort isn’t one of those giant high-rise beach hotels. The buildings are relatively low-rise and spread out across the property, so it never gives me that stuffed-in feeling that you sometimes get at large resorts. Even when there are quite a few guests around, the layout makes the place feel relaxed.

.

Which room should you book at The Cliff Resort Mui Ne?

I’ve stayed in different room types at The Cliff Resort, and for me, the Pool View room is the one I’d choose. The view is very green and pleasant, and I don’t think you necessarily need to pay more just to get a beach view.

I’ve also stayed in a Beach View room before, and while the view is certainly nice, the beach is actually a little further away than you might expect. For that reason, I personally don’t think the upgrade is particularly worthwhile.

If you’re looking for something more affordable, you can also consider a Garden View room. These rooms are on the hill, so they’re a tiny bit further from the beach, but this isn’t really a problem because there are buggies running around the resort to pick guests up.

My room also came with a plate of welcome fruit and some chocolate, which was a nice little touch when we arrived.

.

The staff at The Cliff Resort Mui Ne are genuinely helpful

The staff were another highlight of my stay. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and caring, from helping us with our luggage to answering questions about what to do around Mui Ne. This was particularly useful when travelling with my parents and child. Whenever I needed information about getting around or visiting somewhere nearby, the staff were happy to help. It’s those little things that make a family stay feel much easier.

.

Breakfast was one of my favourite parts at The Cliff Resort Mui Ne

If you’re reading this Review The Cliff Resort because you’re particularly interested in food, don’t skip breakfast.

Breakfast was honestly one of my favourite parts of the stay. The restaurant overlooks the sea, so starting the morning with breakfast and a view of the water already puts you in holiday mode.

There was a good variety of hot dishes, including beef pho, Hue beef noodles, sticky rice and congee with different condiments. There were also salads, fresh fruit and plenty of desserts. Also as someone who enjoys vegetarian food, I particularly appreciated the vegetarian options. The mushroom pâté and vegetable pâté were both really good.

But my favourite was actually a traditional Vietnamese dessert called bánh bò thốt nốt with coconut milk. It’s simple but so good, especially if you like sweet coconut-based desserts.

For drinks, there was Vietnamese drip coffee, tea, soy milk, mung bean milk, detox water and various juices.

The resort also serves lunch and dinner, so you don’t necessarily need to leave the property every time you’re hungry.

.

Things to do if you’re travelling with kids

If you’re coming to Mui Ne with children, The Cliff Resort is a pretty easy place to spend a few days without constantly having to plan activities. There’s an outdoor playground by the beach as well as an indoor playroom, so kids have somewhere to go even when the weather isn’t ideal. There’s also billiards and table tennis, plus a cinema room and karaoke room that you can book. My daughter certainly wasn’t bored here.

And here’s a useful tip if you’re visiting during the summer holidays: the resort usually has more complimentary activities for kids during this period. Depending on the schedule, these can include baking classes, free kite flying, a bubble pool and other children’s activities.

.

Two pools surrounded by greenery

The resort has two swimming pools, and neither feels overly crowded or enclosed. The maximum depth is around 1.5 metres, and the pools are surrounded by trees and greenery, which makes them particularly pleasant for relaxing.

I also found the water to be quite warm, which I personally like when travelling with a child. You don’t get that initial shock of jumping into freezing cold water! For me, the combination of the warm pools, greenery and low-rise buildings is a big part of why I enjoy staying here.

.

The beach is small but peaceful

The beach at The Cliff Resort Mui Ne isn’t huge, so don’t come here expecting a massive stretch of white sand. That said, I found it clean and pleasant, and there’s a nice spot for watching the sunset.

The resort also has kites and surfing equipment available for rent, so you can make use of the beach if you’re in the mood for something more active.

Personally, I think the beach works best as part of the overall resort experience rather than being the main reason to book the hotel.

.

Things to do around The Cliff Resort

One thing to keep in mind is that there aren’t that many restaurants, shops or entertainment options immediately outside the resort. If you want more choice, you’ll probably need to take a taxi towards Mui Ne centre. That doesn’t bother me too much because I usually enjoy staying in the resort and using it as a base for exploring. Below are several interesting places nearby, though.

Red Sand Dunes

The Red Sand Dunes are one of the experiences I’d definitely recommend in Mui Ne. If you have never tried it before, book a sand dune jeep tour. You can ride through the dunes, climb to the top for the views and, of course, try sliding down the sand hills. There are locals renting out plastic boards at the dunes, and sliding down the sand is surprisingly fun, even for adults.

.

Ong Dia Rock Area

Ong Dia Rock is another easy place to visit. It’s only about a 500-metre walk from the resort, so you don’t even need a taxi. You can walk around the colourful rocks, take some photos and grab a coconut ice cream from one of the roadside vendors while watching the sunset. It’s a simple little outing, but a nice one when you don’t want to spend half a day travelling somewhere.

.

Mui Ne Fishing Village

The fishing village is around a 20-minute drive from the resort. I’d recommend going early in the morning if you want to see it at its liveliest. This is when the fishing boats are coming back and fresh seafood is being brought ashore, creating a much more vibrant atmosphere than you’d find later in the day. It’s also a nice way to see a more local side of Mui Ne beyond the resorts.

.

Fish Sauce Museum

Another interesting stop is the Fish Sauce Museum, where you can learn more about Vietnam’s traditional fish sauce-making process and how it has been passed down over generations. Entry is 100,000 VND per person, and it’s worth considering if you’re interested in Vietnamese food and local culture.

.

So, would I stay at The Cliff Resort again?

Yes! And the fact that this was already my second stay probably says quite a lot.

What I like about The Cliff Resort isn’t that it has the most spectacular beach or the most extravagant facilities. It’s the overall experience. The property is spacious and green, the buildings are low-rise, the pools are relaxing, the breakfast is genuinely good, and there are enough activities to keep both adults and children happy.

For a family trip, it worked particularly well because everyone could enjoy the resort at their own pace. My parents could relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, while my 3-year-old daughter had plenty to do. And for me, that’s exactly what I want from a short Mui Ne getaway: somewhere comfortable where I don’t have to rush around.

So if you’re looking for a peaceful resort in Mui Ne where you can slow down, enjoy a good breakfast, spend time by the pool and still have easy access to the area’s attractions, The Cliff Resort & Residences is somewhere I’d happily recommend. Just choose your room carefully, come at the right time of year, and don’t expect the resort to be surrounded by lots of restaurants and nightlife. For me, the quieter location is actually part of the appeal — and I’d definitely come back for a third stay.
