If you’re looking for an ideal Hoi An beachfront resort, our honest review of Koi Resort & Spa Hoi An might help you make a good decision. Albeit some rooms for improvement which I will mention below, this beachfront resort in Hoi An gave us an exceedingly pleasant stay overall.

How to choose a Hoi An beachfront resort

Before you decide on which Hoi An beachfront resort to book, I’d recommend familiarizing yourself with all 6 stunning beaches Hoi An has to offer.

Among these beautiful beaches in Hoi An, Cua Dai Beach and An Bang Beach are most popular due to their proximity to Hoi An Ancient Town. For this reason, I decided to book a stay at Koi Resort & Spa, which lies opposite Cua Dai Beach and is only within 6 km of the old town center.

What I like about Koi Resort & Spa Hoi An

Green and peaceful surroundings

The whole resort area was shaded by lots of trees! There’s a river running through the resort as well.

Bright and well-equipped rooms

Our garden-view double room came with 2 balconies and 1 window, facing 3 different directions! Needless to say, I was delighted to soak up the natural sunlight. In addition, the spacious bathroom was a real treat, featuring both a bathtub and a walk-in shower.

Tasty breakfast buffet

The breakfast buffet at Koi Resort & Spa featured a wide variety of Vietnamese and international cuisines.

The international section included a bread and cheese counter with white and brown bread, cold cuts, butter, cheese, jam, and yogurt. The Vietnamese section featured local noodle soup, as well as some savory dishes. There was also a salad and fruit counter with a wide selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Overall, the buffet was an excellent way to start the day.

5 minutes walk to the beach

It only takes 5 minutes to walk from Koi Resort & Spa to the beach. You literally just need to cross the street!

Free bicycles

Koi Resort & Spa lets you borrow bicycles for free! Cycling is a great way to get around the resort and explore other places of interest nearby.

Free kayak

There’s a charming channel flowing through the resort and you can kayak here for free! Just sign up at the swimming pool reception and the staff will be happy to assist.

Large swimming pool

Surrounded by lots of trees, the hotel swimming pool is large and safe for kids and adults alike, with a lifeguard on duty from 7 AM to 7 PM. Towels are provided, and you can order snacks and drinks to savor at the pool.

What to do near Koi Resort & Spa Hoi An

Visit Roving Chillhouse

Located just more than 2 km from Koi Resort & Spa, Roving Chillhouse is a lovely coffee shop overlooking a mesmerizing rice paddy field. Their food and drinks menu with a wide selection of local and international delicacies is also worth trying!

Enjoy fresh and yummy seafood

There are lots of seafood restaurants lying by the beach just around 500 meters from Koi Resort & Spa. Come here for dinner and you’ll get the chance to savor delicious seafood dishes while enjoying the refreshing ocean breeze.

Cycle or go jogging along the beach

Due to the resort’s proximity to the beach, you can go cycling or jogging along the shore whenever you like. If you’re planning to stay for a while, it’s a great place to get some exercise.

Things that could be improved at Koi Resort & Spa Hoi An | Hoi An Beachfront Resort

Bigger beds

Our 1.6-meter-wide bed, albeit comfortably soft, was unfortunately not large enough for the two of us to stretch ourselves while sleeping.

Later shuttle bus hours

Koi Resort & Spa offers a free daily shuttle bus to and from Hoi An Ancient Town. However, it would be great if the last bus departing from the old town (currently at 5 PM) left a bit later so that people could enjoy the bustling nighttime in town more.

This sounds like a lovely restaurant in a lovely setting. Free bikes and kayaks certainly seem like great perks, although I agree, a 1.6 m bed is a little tight!
