Planning a family trip to Phu Quoc for the first time? Looking for a Phu Quoc 4 days itinerary that suits your family’s unique needs? I know the feeling—so many things to do, so many places to see, and it’s hard to decide what’s really worth it, especially when you’re traveling with kids.
We had 4 full days in Phu Quoc and it turned out to be the perfect amount of time to hit the highlights without wearing everyone out (trust me, I’ve learned the hard way!). So here’s our tried-and-tested Phu Quoc 4 days itinerary—with everything from safaris and aquariums to cable cars and night markets, all family-approved.
Day 1: Vinpearl Safari & Long Beach
Morning & Afternoon
We landed at Phu Quoc International Airport and booked a Grab Car (you can also try Xanh SM) to head straight to Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc.
It took about 50 minutes to get there, and the resort sits right by the beautiful Long Beach. It’s a super family-friendly resort with a big pool, a dedicated room for kids’ activities, an outdoor playground, and its own clean stretch of beach—perfect for catching a gorgeous sunset. We also loved the breakfast buffet—so many yummy Vietnamese dishes, some Korean options, and even vegetarian-friendly choices. And last but not least, they use the Australian brand Appelles for all their toiletries, which felt so worth it! I’m sure this resort will be a great option for your Phu Quoc 4 days itinerary.

After check-in, we didn’t waste time—just dropped off our bags and hopped on the free shuttle to Vinpearl Safari, the largest safari park in Vietnam. There’s an open zoo area, a bird show, and our favorite part—the giraffe feeding at the Giraffe Restaurant. You get to hand them food and take super cute photos. My daughter was thrilled!
Quick tip: The resort shuttle is free but slow (20+ min to get to Vinpearl Safari), so grab a taxi if you’re in a rush (only ~10 min).
Late Afternoon & Evening
We got back to the resort in time for a swim and a stunning sunset on Long Beach. So peaceful, and my daughter could run around while we chilled.
For dinner, you can either eat at the resort or take a short taxi ride (20 mins) to Rach Vem fishing village for a more local seafood experience. It’s worth it if you’re up for a short adventure.
Day 2: VinWonders Phu Quoc, Grand World & Teddy Bear Museum
Morning & Afternoon
We spent most of the day at VinWonders Phu Quoc. The highlight here is definitely the giant tortoise-shaped aquarium—it’s impressive even for adults. We managed to catch the mermaid show and saw penguin feeding time (around noon). My daughter and the other kids couldn’t stop pointing and giggling at the penguins waddling around.
There’s also a water park inside VinWonders, which was a blast for little ones. We skipped some of the other entertainment areas because, to be honest, they didn’t seem that special. All in all, we’d recommend spending at least 4 hours here. You can buy tickets in advance via this link to avoid the queue: VinWonders Phu Quoc ticket.

Evening
After resting a bit, we took the shuttle over to Grand World Phu Quoc. It’s a huge area with Venice-style buildings and river cruises. It’s pretty for photos, but feels a bit artificial. The food here is quite overpriced too. In addition, we decided to pass on the evening light show, as it got really crowded and honestly, it didn’t look that exciting. Overall, if you’re into cool photos and a relaxing boat ride with the whole family, then perhaps Grand World Phu Quoc is a good place for you.
That said, the Teddy Bear Museum inside Grand World was a hit with young kids—totally worth a visit. We spent around 45 minutes there and my daughter totally loved it!

Day 3: Hon Thom Island & Sunset Town
Morning
After breakfast, we checked out of the resort and moved to a hotel in the city center—An Phu Hotel. Super affordable (~$32/night for a family room), spacious, and just 600m from Duong Dong Night Market. Perfect for the next part of our adventure.
We then headed to An Thoi station to catch the longest cable car in the world to Hon Thom Island. The ride was a highlight—floating above the sea with panoramic views of Phu Quoc. You can buy tickets in advance here: Hon Thom Cable Car Tickets.
Afternoon
On Hon Thom, we explored Exotica Village and Aquatopia Water Park. Both are great for families. My daughter loved the water slides and big pools, and then we had lunch at their buffet (affordable and plenty of options).
Opening hours:
- Exotica Village: 9:30–16:45
- Aquatopia: 10:00–16:45
- Last cable car: 17:00
Evening
Back on the mainland, we made our way to Sunset Town. It’s a surreal place during the day (feels like a ghost town with all those empty European-style buildings), but it comes alive in the evening.

Here’s how the night went:
- 5:30PM: Behold the sunset at the popular Kiss Bridge
- 6PM: We watched the Love Hurricane Show – a super cool jetski + flyboard performance.
- 7PM: Puppet show by the sea (except Wednesdays).
- 9PM: The main event—Kiss of the Sea Show! It’s a 30-minute show with fire, water, lights, lasers, and live performances from 60 international artists. The stage floats on the sea—so dramatic and fun. Tickets: VND 1,000,000 per person, or VND 1,300,000 for two. Kids under 1m are free. Closed on Tuesdays. You can buy Kiss of the Sea tickets in advance, with options to include dinner as well.
- 9:30PM: Fireworks show lasting for 7 minutes! A perfect end to the day.
Day 4: Ong Lang Beach & Duong Dong Night Market
Morning & Afternoon
We had a few hours before our flight, so we kept it flexible. If you want to relax, head to Ong Lang Beach, not too far from the city center. Peaceful and beautiful.
If you want more action, you can try:
- A Phu Quoc cooking class
- A snorkeling tour
- Trekking in Phu Quoc National Park (including stops at a pepper farm, Suoi Tranh waterfall, and a fishing village)
Evening
Before heading to the airport, we explored the Duong Dong Night Market. It opens around 5PM and is packed with food stalls, snacks, and souvenirs. We tried lobster at a sit-down eatery—not great – maybe because the lobster we chose was not fresh. However, the street food stalls had way tastier options. My daughter was happily munching on grilled corns, coconut ice cream, and mango smoothies.
Beware, there are lots of stalls selling pearl jewelries at this night market, but it’s likely they’re not real. Check carefully before you buy.
